DramaTech Theatre – Banquet Committee

Overview

A themed, interactive choose-your-own-adventure story built as the invitation website for DramaTech Theatre’s yearly award show, sent to over 100 recipients alongside their invitations.

Highlights

  • Individually designed and implemented a themed, interactive, choose your own adventure story as a React app, using the Vite framework, tailwindcss, and GSAP for animations.
  • Hosted the website on a subdomain of the theatre’s website at banquet.dramatech.org using GitHub Pages.
  • Worked with the invitations team to distribute the website alongside invitations to the theatre’s yearly award show to over 100 recipients using Mailchimp.

The Invitation

This year’s banquet theme was “The White Rabbit’s Speakeasy,” and the website works like a way in. Guests follow a short story through a series of choices, guided by photo collages and torn-paper text, matching the visual style and color palette of the event. At the end, the White Rabbit asks for a password, which was given in the invitation emails, so only invited guests can get through the digital “door”.

How I Built It

I designed and developed the whole site on my own in about a week. It’s a React app built with Vite and styled with Tailwind CSS, and all of the animations use GSAP.
